dc.description.abstract Academic advising is always a time-consuming process and this process also highly requires the knowledge of the advisors. This thesis used artificial neural network to identify the factors which impact the course performance of the student and thus gave a guideline to the students and advisors for course selection. An artificial neural network model is built in this thesis. It preserves the knowledge of choosing the suitable courses in terms of course performance. And a web-based course recommendation system embedded with the neural network model is developed to assist the advising process to be more efficient. en_US
