SGML/XML Tutorial (Re-inventing the WEB)

Abstract

Based on the popularization of the WEB on the Internet, various new social structure are developed on the WEB, including electronic commerce, digital libraries and so on. However, the WEB may not be sufficient enough for the New Information Infrastructure because of its very simple components such as URL, HTTP and HTML. XML is one of the major technical advance in web technology that has the potential to change the relationship between producers and consumers of digital documents.
